How to Become an Educator

Georgia Career Institute offers a Student Instructor program. Student Instructors, whether for Cosmetology or Esthetics, of Georgia Career Institute are trained with employment in mind and given access to our curriculum and proprietary information. As such, the Institute enrolls students with the hope that an employment position will be available upon graduation (employment is not guaranteed and will be dependent upon cultural adaptability and performance). Due to these circumstances, enrollment is dependent upon need, but no less than every 6 months.

Applicants seeking admission into an instructor training program must possess one of the previous certifications AND hold a current Board of Cosmetology license in the state of Georgia. A candidate must have had the Board of Cosmetology license for at least one year.

Students wishing to inquire about the availability of the Instructor Program should reach out directly to the Academic Director at the desired location with a copy of your resume to display licensure achievements.

Tuition covers the expert knowledge gained, and in-class training undergone, at GCI: two elements necessary for a successful certification. It also includes all of the cosmetology supplies (e.g. “Master Kit” of 20 essential tools), texts, workbooks, testing books, and materials required to complete this revolutionary program.

    I graduated in June and was licensed as of July and I can say this is one of the best experiences so far. In school I took my career serious and knew I wanted to waste no time on getting started so I took extra courses while I was in school and literally had my own suite 3 months before I finished school. Fast forward to today I’m currently at Trends Style Studio where I specialize in body waxing, skincare and body sculpting.
