A Cut Above the Rest!

Our Cosmetology program consists of 1500 hours of instruction that is more than just state board preparedness. This exciting program assures that aspiring cosmetologists gain proficiency in the following areas:

Hair Care – including: Coloring, Cutting, Chemical Texturing (e.g. permanent waving)

Nail Care – including: manicures and pedicures

Skin Care – including: facial and skin care trends, traditional methods, and product usage

Hands-on training is an integral part of the Cosmetology curriculum, and students will work alongside, and even on their fellow classmates in school clinics. The GCI team offers guidance and training every step of the way, prompting students to discover their inner creativity, their passion, and their love for the field via collaborative trainings.

Once a reasonable level of proficiency is achieved, students will also be offered the chance to utilize their skills through GCI’s extensive salon services, catering to real-world clients in the process. During this senior phase of the program, a student has the opportunity to begin developing their own ‘book’ of clients forging a relationship beyond graduation and licensing.

Ultimately, a cosmetology license creates many possible and sustainable career opportunities. GCI is proud to set the bar high for its students, paving their pathway to success!

 

While studying cosmetology at GCI, students will actively engage with the most up-to-date technology available. Most of our curricula run on Pivot Point’s LAB platform, permitting students to complete theory assignments, program tasks, and benchmark tests with confidence and efficiency.

Interested In Becoming a
Cosmetology Instructor?

Cosmetology Instructors are industry professionals with an eagerness to share their insights and skills with a future generation of Cosmetologists. Depending on classroom needs and availability, Georgia Career Institute enrolls students interested in becoming Master Cosmetology Instructors at select locations. Student Instructors will gain well-rounded knowledge of our curriculum, operations, and classroom and salon-floor management. These skills are groomed throughout 750 hours of expert instruction in Georgia, or 300 hours of professional instruction in Tennessee. Many of our graduates continue employment at our Institute after successfully completing the program.     I graduated in June and was licensed as of July and I can say this is one of the best experiences so far. In school I took my career serious and knew I wanted to waste no time on getting started so I took extra courses while I was in school and literally had my own suite 3 months before I finished school. Fast forward to today I’m currently at Trends Style Studio where I specialize in body waxing, skincare and body sculpting.
