NOTICE TO CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Council on Occupational Education (COE) Accreditation Status
Georgia Career Institute (GCI) is committed to keeping our students and prospective students informed about matters related to our institutional accreditation.
The Council on Occupational Education (COE), GCI’s accrediting agency, has issued a Show Cause Order related to the institution’s required annual financial reporting. Specifically, GCI did not submit its audited financial statements, including notes prepared by an independent certified public accountant, and required COE financial forms for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025, by the June 30, 2026, due date.
Georgia Career Institute remains accredited while this matter is being addressed. The Show Cause Order has not resulted in the loss of GCI’s accreditation. At this time, this accreditation action does not affect current students’ enrollment at GCI or their eligibility for financial aid. Students may continue their programs as scheduled.
A Show Cause Order provides the institution an opportunity to respond to COE and demonstrate why its accreditation should not be withdrawn. GCI is actively working to address the cited financial reporting requirement and submit the required response to COE within the established time frame. We take our accreditation responsibilities seriously and are committed to working through this process responsibly.
This notice is being provided in accordance with COE requirements that institutions disclose this accreditation action to all current and prospective students.
Students and prospective students who have questions regarding this notice may contact:
